（1）TypesThe overhead feeder can be divided into top feeding box type and cross cage feeding box type according to the configuration of the feeding box; According to different power configurations, it can be divided into traction type and self-propelled type. The top feeding box crane type feeder has only one feeding bucket, located at the top of the chicken cage. The capacity of the feeding box should meet the feeding needs of all chickens in each row of the chicken cage. The bottom of the feeding box is equipped with a agitator. When the driving components work, the agitator rotates to push the feed out of the feeding box and evenly discharge it into the feeding trough along the sliding tube. The cross cage feeding box traveling feeder has different configurations according to the form of the chicken cage, but each row of feeding troughs spans a rectangular small feeding box. The lower part of the feeding box is inclined and conical, and the conical flat mouth sits in the feeding trough. When the driving component rotates to drive the cross cage box to move along the chicken cage, the feed slides down the conical surface and is placed in the feeding trough, completing the feeding operation.
（2）Main structureThe overhead feeder is mainly composed of driving components (traction parts), material boxes, and discharge pipes. The characteristic of the traction structure is that the traction drive component is installed at one end of the running track, and the motor reducer completes the feeding operation by pulling the material box along the track through the drive wheel and steel wire rope. The structural feature of the self-propelled type is that the traction drive component is installed together with the top material box, and the material box is directly driven along the track by the sprocket to complete the feeding operation.
